My Journey into Yoga
I was introduced to guided meditation and pranayama at a very young age. I immediately noticed the mind-body benefits of conscious breathing and meditation. I then discovered Power Yoga during her college days at the University of Colorado, Boulder. After graduating with my Biochemistry degree, I decided to pursue massage therapy. My studies at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy helped expose me to more holistic healing methods and classical ways to promote healthy lifestyles, allowing yoga to become a necessary part of my life. My initial journey into the world of Power Yoga lead me to appreciate various forms of yoga and since has become attracted to Prana Flow Yoga.
Prana Flow Yoga is a type of evolutionary vinyasa yoga developed by Shiva Rea which focuses on the movement of the body initiated and guided by the breath. Prana Flow classes are breath inspired journeys that offer various rhythms from meditative and rejuvenating to challenging and empowering. Every class is designed to facilitate whole body transformations in strength and fluidity, circulation and centering. In the main body of the class, creative sequencing is offered to integrate standing poses, arm balances, back bends, forward bends, twists and hip openers in an effective, intelligent, dynamic method. Prana Flow is a great practice for the householder yogi, who wants to honor the essence of yoga on and off of the mat. Practicing Prana Flow will help keep your mind, body, and soul refreshed, focused, and connected to the ebb and flow of the natural body rhythms that surrounds your life.
I knew I wanted to share my love of yoga with others and obtained my 200-hr RYT certification through the Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow teacher training program under the mentorship of Maria Garre. I am continuing my yoga studies through the 500-hr teacher training certification with Shiva Rea, while concurrently completing her Master’s of Education with Teaching Certification.
My classes will push your evolutionary edge, and will teach you how to live in the present moment. Come ready to sweat, laugh, and explore your body’s astonishing capabilities.
